Resident Evil: Requiem Questions *SPOILER WARNING*

I know...I'm late to the party. But I just finished Resident Evil: Requiem (I have a hefty backlog). And I'm wondering what I'm sure many others have wondered... Is Zeno Wesker's clone? He has similar abilities, and looks similar, obviously. But there was also a clue in the dialogue. Something along the lines of, "You're nothing but a cheap facsmilie, Zeno."

Which brings up bigger question... If he is a clone then why does The Connections have a clone of Wesker? How many clones are there? And who exactly is behind The Connections? Are they the only ones with Wesker clones, or are Wesker clones being sold on the black market like bio-weapons?

Yeah he's a clone, it's weirdly included I feel, like it comes out of nowhere even if you know he has to be one due to Wesker pretty clearly dying in RE5.  I think it's something we could find more about in either the DLC for Requiem or the next game as I assume RE10 will continue the story told previously like 8 did for 7.
